Obituary for Richard Conlyn

Richard Joseph Conlyn was born on February 6,1937 to Ruth Joseph Conlyn in Middletown, New York. Richard and his sister, Ruth, grew up in Monroe, New York. At the age of 18, Richard joined the United States Navy and was stationed on the island of Antigua. He enjoyed sharing fond memories of living on the island. Richard’s love of music was another lifelong passion. He played the piano, trumpet, and classical guitar. His singing ability landed him the tenor leading roles in his high school musicals.
After completing his time in the Navy, Richard earned an Associate degree from the Orange County Community College in Middletown, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Arizona State College in Flagstaff, Arizona. While attending college in Flagstaff, he met and married Ninah in 1964. After his graduation, he enjoyed spending a year working on the Flagstaff Police force.
The next year, they moved to Washington where Richard worked for Mobil Oil Corporation. He also joined the Mountaineers and climbed most of the major peaks in the state. Two years later and for the remainder of his career, he worked in pharmaceutical sales.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ninah, his son, Richard, his daughter-in-law, Anne, and his granddaughter, Reiley.
